- Google Earth is free data-streaming software giving broadband users the ability to pull up high-resolution satellite imagery (10m pixels) and other geographic data across the world. Includes digital elevation models allowing you to tilt the satellite images to create realistic 3D visualisations of terrain; quite helpful for expedition planning, as you can see the ground you'll be covering.
