2007 total lunar eclipse - australia
The Total Lunar Eclipse of August 29th, 2007 was nearly clouded out from Melbourne. A lucky break in the clouds however allowed us to capture some images from the historic bluestone timeball tower at Point Gellibrand in Williamstown, Melbourne. The tower was built in 1852 and forms a distinctive landmark on the shores of Port Phillip Bay.
2004 total lunar eclipse - australia
This multiple exposure sequence of the May 5th, 2004 Total Lunar Eclipse was taken from St Kilda in Melbourne, Australia. Exposures were taken at 5 minute intervals during the penumbral phases of the eclipse with a large format camera.
This photo was taken as the Moon plunged into totality just before dawn. The St Kilda Pier and boats on Port Phillip Bay are visible in the foreground.
